The Holiday Table – Traditional, Classic and COLORFUL

November 25, 2025 – JANET GUST

The “holiday table” is the heart of every family celebration. This year Janet is setting a new table tradition by adding a pop of pink. And fuchsia. And chocolate brown. You can make your holiday table festive, fabulous and unforgettable with inspiration from Janet.

Start with a centerpiece and work out from there. If the table is the heart, then the centerpiece is the beat. A floral arrangement, colorful cornucopia, even a small sculpture or art piece can set the tone for your holiday table. Take inspiration from your starting point. Be playful with color. Use your imagination, challenge your creativity.

When it’s time to celebrate – use the good stuff. Dress the table with your favorite special china, dishes and flatware then do the unexpected by mixing and matching the classics with bright colors and nontraditional patterns. Think embossed hot pink chargers with animal print napkins and richly colored stemware. Napkin rings can be simple to sophisticated to silly, and another way to tie in the new colors of your table.

Dim the lights and bring on the candles. Dancing flames create a magical final touch to your holiday table. Float votives in crystal bowls for extra enchantment. Elegant tapers up the ambiance and adds complementary color. Bees wax candles burn long and clean and now come in the brightest brights and the softest pastels.

Need a little extra seating? Pull up a bench and accent with some custom LUCKY Textiles pillows. BRUNSCHWIG & FILS Timbre Velvet in Ebony Brown will complement your table beautifully.

Set the table early. Give yourself a break, especially if you’re doing the cooking. Decorate your table before family arrives. Make your holiday table a priority, not an afterthought. Give yourself the grace of slowing down and taking your time. Your holiday table will be admired by everyone who’s gathered around it.
