Janet Goes to Round Top!

March 13, 2026 – JANET GUST

Howdy! Janet Gust is grabbing her posse and heading to Round Top for some serious shopping. For the uninitiated, Round Top is a small town 90 miles west of Houston that transforms every spring into one of the country’s largest antique shows. A native Houstonian, this is not Janet’s first rodeo; she is an expert in the Round Top experience. Surrounded by the original and unconventional, exclusive and exotic, this antiques excursion inspires Janet to design on-trend and trendsetting interiors.

So, grab your cowboy hat, swingy Western wear and comfy shoes -- it’ll take a few days to do Round Top the right way. These are three stops Janet always makes in her annual antiquing adventure:

  • Susan Horne Antiques – Visit Market Hill 2 (1542 TX-237 near Big Red Barn ) to find exceptional European furniture and accents. This year Susan Horne is showcasing the LUCKY Textiles Forms of Beauty pillow collection. See how Janet’s custom cushions elevate luxury hardgoods to transform a room from stunning to sublime.

  • Sourced by Janet Wiebe – Blue Hills at Round Top (1701 TX 237) is where you’ll find inspiring Italian Murano glass custom lighting fixtures and unique, original antiques. You’ll find it an illuminating experience.

  • Preservation Company – All the way from Huntsville, Alabama, these reclaimed wood artists feature stunning doors and furniture in Round Top’s Cisco Village (1350 TX 237). This family-owned architectural and vintage goods purveyor exemplifies the Round Top spirit.

Planning ahead: Surprises, inspiration and incredible items can be found in the over 100 individually owned venues up and down State Highway 237. Some venues require a ticket to get in, others are free. Grab a guide to chart your shopping course. Hotels and inns book up quickly during antiquing season (remember, Round Top is a SMALL town!); glamping is always an option. Can’t make it in March? Fall Round Top kicks off in October.
